VILLA TAOUZERT
Book

Oasis of Tozeur, Tunisia

Deep in the palm grove, the artisan's touch becomes design.

Villa Taouzert is a guest house with two suites, tucked away in the old oasis of Tozeur. We chose quality over quantity: few rooms, a great deal of attention, and a house entirely shaped by the artisans of southern Tunisia.

Craftsmanship of the oasis

Every object has a maker, every material a story.

All the furniture and decoration in the suites are handmade by local artisans. The headboard is carved from palm wood, the kilims are woven from wool, the pottery comes from the clay of the South. A living tradition, reinterpreted in a contemporary, minimalist style.

Pierangela and Nabil, an oasis story.

We met 27 years ago. Pierangela has Sicilian roots. At the time, Eden Palm was still just an idea that Nabil was nurturing with his brother Karem.

Nabil passed on to Pierangela his love for his land and for his oasis. We settled in Tozeur and started our little family there, with the arrival of Omar and Lara.

Eden Palm came into being in 2009. Through its ups and downs, it grew to become one of Tozeur's must-sees. Then came the idea of extending what it had to offer.

With Villa Taouzert, we became partners twice over. As a tribute to her late father, Pierangela went into business with Nabil, investing part of her inheritance in the villa.

That, in a few words, is our little story: as a couple, as partners and as the founders of Villa Taouzert.

A true oasis

« The property is heavenly and wonderfully peaceful — a true oasis. The villa is modern, tastefully furnished, and makes you want to stay for a long time. The real gem, however, is the management: they've embraced a vision of quality rather than mass tourism. […] A pleasant surprise is their on-request restaurant — intimate, refined, and with a menu personally curated by the host according to the day. »

Emanuele, Switzerland
